One Hotspur Day

Brief:

On Saturday 6th December 2008 Tottenham Hotspur FC hosted their first “One Hotspur Day” in association with GLOBALGAMES®SPORTS.
The event was built around an open training session for fans to see the team’s players, and new coach, in training on the first team pitch. But the day offered so much more.

Event:

As well as the training session the day included:

  • Inflatable Soccer Skills Zone - Freestyler Displays
  • Cheerleaders
  • Santa’s Grotto
  • The Carling Cup
  • Club Info Marquee
  • Kit Kiosk
  • 5-a-side Tournament
  • Street Dance Competition
  • Mascot Photos
  • Concession Booths and Merchandise
  • Encompassing most of the facilities that we recommend as essential requirements for a “complete” FanPark® Experience, additional activity was supplied directly from the club’s own resources.

    The Results:

    The event attracted over 4,000 paying fans with advertising restricted only to adverts on the club website. Interviewed fans agreed that:

  • One Hotspur Day made them feel valued by the club;
  • One Hotspur Day was a true Family Day Out;
  • A Spurs FootballFanPark® on a Match Day would get them to the ground earlier;
  • They would be prepared to pay to enter a Spurs FootballFanPark® on a Match Day;
  • They were prepared to spend money on club merchandise at a FootballFanPark® (up to £30k);
  • They loved the museum and felt that they left with more knowledge of the club
  • “One Hotspur Day” has proven that the FanPark® Experience can work in conjunction with existing collateral and facilities owned by the club, sponsor or organisation involved.
