StreetSportsAthens Municipality - Street Sports Day

BRIEF:

To create a Total Sports Experience to engage all ages and abilities and promote the healthy living aspects of Athens culture.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide a range of sporting activities and match areas for the public of Athens to learn and participate in new activities.
Different areas / sports activities were provided for differ- ent sponsors to provide a total mix of input and activity.

GG SOLUTION:

GLOBALGAMESSPORTS Greek Distri- bution arm (Kick-Off Marketing) worked closely with the Athens municipality to provide a combination of inflatable games, fenced game areas and specific sports equipment.

LOGISTICS:

With roads closed by the local authority our team started work at 04.00 am and set-up 30 pitch areas, games and accessories (as well as pitch mark- ings on the road surface) by 09.00am.
The event started at 09.30 am and continued through until 13.00 pm. All equipment was packed and removed by 17.00 pm.

STAFFING:

15 Activation crew set up and packed the whole event and a combined team of Event Activation crew and volunteers (numbering nearly 60 in total) operated the event for the people of Athens.

Massive engagement with the people of Athens and national press coverage.

STATISTICS:

Over 500m of match fencing; 10 Basketball Stands & 60 Basketballs; 10 Tennis Nets & 200 Tennis Balls; 20 Football Goals & 40 Footballs; Inflatable PowerSave Game; 60 staff; over 1,200 m2 of fake turf.
